TEK DigiTel introduces V-Server OfficeBuilder platform
Service Providers can bundle Low Cost Device integrating VoIP, Routing and PBX
Technology into Small Business service offerings
ORLANDO, FLA - May 23, 2000
In conjunction with the ISPCON - Spring 2000 trade show, TEK DigiTel Corp. (TEKI:NQB) is announcing a new version of the
company's award winning V-Server VoIP (Voice over IP) customer site voice/data router. Like the existing V-Server products, the new OfficeBuilder platform combines data routing functionality with a VoIP Gateway. In addition, the device's sophisticated PBX (Private Branch Exchange) voice switching features enables service providers to deliver sophisticated voice/data offerings to their small business customers.
"In the past small business owners have been prevented from utilizing the sophisticated voice features traditional PBX manufacturers commonly made available to large enterprises" explains Rocco DiCarlo, president of TEK DigiTel Corp., "Our new V-Server OfficeBuilder platform changes this by both delivering the technology in a configuration scaled to the small business owner needs and by playing to their buying preference for services by helping carrier's deliver this device as part of a bundled offering with long distance services."
The V-Server OfficeBuilder supports 6 analog voice connections (2 trunk and 4 phones) with expansion options planned for the future. A local Ethernet LAN connection is provided for PC or Hub connection and a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is designed to connect the device to computers running TAPI compliant communications software. An integral V.90 dial modem can be used to connect the device to the Internet or an optional ISDN BRI module can be added. In addition, an additional Ethernet port can be added to connect the unit to a DSL (Digital Subscriber Loop), Cable or Wireless modem service. Up to 4 simultaneous VoIP calls can be supported by the OfficeBuilder connecting it to other V-Server devices, H.323 clients and/or 3rd-party VoIP Gateways.
Advanced voice features supported by the V-Server OfficeBuilder include:
- Call Hold, Transfer, 3 Way Conference Features
- IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Automated Attendant feature that answers inbound calls with 9 separate greetings
- Integral Voicemail support
- Music/Advertising on Hold
- Call pick-up, grab, retrieval and parking features
- Call queues with music-on-hold and timed "leave-a-message" prompts
- Local Phone Company Support (Rollover, CallerID, Distinctive Ring, 3 Way Calling, etc.)
- Call Announce to Screen and Accept/Reroute Inbound Calls
- International Call Back/Bridge to control Long distance costs
- Time-of-Day and Day-of-Week re-configuration
- Call Forwarding to external phones, pagers, cell phones
- Public Address System Broadcast Support
Limited availability of the V-Server
OfficeBuilder for TEK DigiTel's partners is planned for June, 2000 with volume shipments scheduled for August 2000. The product will have a list price starting at $1,699 (US).
TEK DigiTel's equipment and supplemental services are designed to make IP telephony less expensive and complex for providers to provision and for users to adopt. TEK's V-Server gateway/routers are user-installable and inexpensive enough for carriers to bundle with voice, data and Internet access services.
