TEK DigiTel Increases Strategic Focus on Asia Pacific Market
Restructures Canadian Sales Division

GERMANTOWN, Maryland -  October 16, 2000    TEK DigiTel (TEKI:EQS) today announced that it has appointed Madhav Kadambi, MBA, B Sc Engineering, to the position of Vice President Business Development to lead sales in Asia Pacific region.  This appointment comes as the Asia Pacific region is poised to become a major adopter of VoIP technology. According to research done by MCI Worldcom, 25% of the estimated over $200 billion in global VoIP revenues expected for 2010, are to come from Asia.

“This appointment immediately enhances our ability to penetrate the Asia Pacific market,” comments Enghe Chimood, TEK’s CEO. “We are aware of the potential for VoIP in Asia Pacific with their current Telephony infrastructure issues. These issues have initiated a widespread development of new networks, both wire line and wireless, which are ideal for the TEK VoIP offering.”

Kadambi brings to TEK more then 15 years experience in the Internet and telecommunications services and products market. Most recently he served as International Projects and Business Development Director for GeoPhone a US based provider of VSAT networking products and services. Prior to GeoPhone Kadambi held senior positions at Mobile Telesystems and Singapore Telecom (SingTel).

Additionally, TEK has re-structured its Canadian based sales team. Former TEK President Rocco DiCarlo has left TEK to form an independent group, which has aligned itself with a major Internet Telephony Service Organization. TEK has supported and encouraged this development because they believe that this will significantly accelerate the demand for Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) based Internet Telephony services.  Existing North American accounts and new sales initiatives are being cultivated by Thomas Yang, co-founder and COO.
